Estimated to contain up to 2.5 billion barrels of oil and 3.3 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, the Baleine field is the largest oil discovery in Ivory Coast. The project is also expected to become the first emissions-free upstream development project in Africa under Scope 1 and 2 of the global standard Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

Biovea Launches 46 MW Biomass Plant in Ivory Coast
The biomass power plant is expected to generate 46 MW of electricity, primarily from palm oil waste. Earth works operations at the Ayébo plant commenced on February 24, 2022, with commercial operations expected to begin in 2023.
The Aggreko plant in the Vridi area of Abidjan is operated by CI-Energies and provides power to Ivory Coast and surrounding countries interconnected to the country’s grid. The facility was installed in 2010 with the first phase of the project producing 70 MW.
